Lucy is our new dog, she is a small black staffy x, she is about 9 - 12 months old and is currently in season, she is good with other dogs and wasnt overly interested in the cat. She was absolutely terrified in the kennels and just hid and shook. I brought her home yesterday and she came out of her shell into a fantastic little dog, unfortunately she has kennel cough so Ian has had to take her to kennels today because due to bacteria in the phlem from kennel cough, Amelia is at risk from contracting an chest infection she has a low immune system due to her medication, we could not risk it. I now feel awful abandoning that little girl in the kennels when she came on so well in a home, she was clean and well behaved and just wanted to lie with the other dogs on the dog beds for company. She is in an outside isolation kennel which aren't as warm as the main block, she will be scared and very cold we all know about Staffys and cold, now it's snowing if anybody knows anyone who could take her in even if its just for a couple of days till the snow clears i would be so grateful, she is a super little dog.

You mustn't feel guilty Julie - Amelia's health has to come first no matter what, you did the right thing. I know you feel bad but under the circumstances you had no choice and at least little Lucy is alive and out of the pound, its just unfortunate that the weather is as bad as it is

Bloody hell - are you paying people to take these dogs or what. I cannot believe how quick they are going. I am just in the process of adding her to the website. I'll bob a reserve notice on her

Little Lucy is now Dasiy-Moo, she has to go back to the vets next Friday, she settled right in with Megan, i gave Megan some tips and she followed them. Daisy- Moo is very timid and if outside she wont come in and if she's inside she wont go out, i showed Megan how to coax her so that she came in / went out of her own accord. Megan is determined to do right by Daisy-Moo and although she was desperate to fuss and cuddle her she refrained in order to let Daisy settle of her own accord and not to put any other stress on her by over fussing her. Daisy went and settled into the chair in the front room and when i went to leave she didnt appear, i think she is very anxious, Megan was going to tidy up in the kitchen and not talk or pay Daisy any attention and then she was just going to sit and watch telly, if Daisy went and sat with her all well and good but if she chose to stay in the chair Megan was going to ignore her. Megan really excited but sensible, i really hope Daisy forms that special bond with Megan soon as she really has landed on her paws!
